About Us:

CLASSICAL AND CHRISTIAN DISTINCTIVE:  Teaching by the Trivium

The purpose of a Classical education is to equip students with the tools they need to learn and think for themselves.  A Classical school does this by providing three academic foundations (commonly called the Trivium) that follow the natural stages of child development.

While we strive to establish these academic foundations at Providence, we firmly believe that Biblical truth should be the lens through which we examine all of life.  Therefore, we are committed to teaching a Christ-centered worldview.  We want our students to see the Bible not as just another school subject, separating it into a class during certain hours, but as relevant to all areas of life.  Simply put, a Classical and Christian school uses the Trivium in method, emphasizes Western civilization, the arts and humanities in content, and grounds all learning in Scripture.

HISTORY OF PCS

Providence Christian School opened its doors in August 2005 with the goal of providing high-quality, college preparatory, Christian education for children.  In October 2006, the school moved to its current Byrd Road campus.  Situated on 65 acres in Oxford, Georgia, the school is surrounded by beautiful woods, a lake, and scenic pasture land.  The Lord has faithfully grown our school so that we now have students enrolled in grades K4-12.  In October 2007 Providence received full accreditation from the Georgia Accreditation Commission (GAC).  We have not only maintained our accreditation each year, but have received accreditation for our K-4 program as well.
